Let's take a look how is our brain react when we facing a bullying.
Our brain has fear preceptor organ called amygdala. When our fear is triggered, amygdala works more extra & sent interpretation to part of brain called hippocampus & prefrontal cortex which has major role in memory & learning experience. More medical facts, serotonin receptors is located in central nervous system which are very close to hippocampus, which functioning our happiness, mood, memory processing, sleep attitude & cognition.
As being bullied, obviously our fear is triggered it's midst to the highest state.
Types & categories of bullying (with known frequencies):
- Physical bullying in school or dormitory (High)
- Verbal abuse bullying in school or dormitory (Very High)
- Physical bullying in family environment (Low)
- Verbal abuse in family environment (Medium)
- Hate speech or racism attack in public places (Very High)
- Being attacked physically in public places (High)
- Physical or verbal abuse bullying done by authorities (High)
- Hierarchy abuse (Seniority abuse) in college or company (Very High)
- Peer pressure to improper way (Very High)
- Others
Most of cases, the victims unable to practice ''fight or flight responses'' due they always meet the perpetrators frequently due to geography factor or career demand. Such as if the victim live in unsafe communities, you may be disturbed, teased or extorted everytime you passed them.
Let's defeat bullying activities in any occasion, it's start from our generation!
